Types of Dental Implant Solutions
At Plano Smile Studio, Dr. Hucklebridge crafts custom solutions for Dallas dental implant patients, including:
- Single Replacement Teeth – To replace a single missing tooth, an individual implant post is placed in the jaw. Then, a temporary tooth is attached. Following the healing process, a support post is inserted in the implant to secure a custom ceramic crown, beautifully designed and impeccably crafted especially for your smile. Even one missing tooth mars a beautiful smile and jeopardizes oral health. A dental implant restores the appearance of your smile, blends seamlessly with your existing teeth, and eliminates the problems caused by missing teeth.
- Multiple Replacement Teeth – Dental implants can be used to replace multiple missing teeth, no matter where they occur in your smile. Depending on your unique situation, your Dallas implant dentist may recommend replacing each missing tooth with a dental implant. Alternatively, he may suggest an implant-supported partial denture or fixed bridge. A partial denture replaces missing teeth scattered throughout a smile; a bridge fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth in a row. No matter the option you choose, your smile will look natural, feel comfortable, and last for years to come.
- Implant-Retained Full Dentures to Replace All Lower and/or Upper Teeth – When teeth are missing, substantial jawbone loss can occur. This loss of structure can make dentures, especially a lower one, slip and become painful to wear. Dentures supported by dental implants provide more comfort and stability than conventional dentures. You won’t need to use denture adhesive, and you’ll never again suffer embarrassing slippage when you speak or eat. Instead, you’ll experience a strong, secure smile custom-designed to enhance your appearance and encourage whole-mouth health.
Options to Replace All Lower Teeth
- Two dental implants placed in the jaw secure a removable lower denture that snaps into place.
- Four to six implants secured in the jaw and connected by a custom-made bar receive a removable denture prepared with special retention clasps that snap firmly onto the bar. This type of denture is called an overdenture.
- Five or more implants surgically inserted in the jaw secure a permanent denture attached with support posts or a bar.
- Each tooth can be replaced by dental implants, eliminating the need for a denture.
Options to Replace All Upper Teeth
Similar options are available to replace all of the teeth in the upper jaw. But because the bone in the upper jaw isn’t as hard as the lower jaw, more implants may be needed.
All-on-Four Dental Implants
If you want implant-supported replacement teeth in a single day, ask us about the All-on-Four dental implants procedure. You’ll receive four specially designed implants in your upper and lower jaw. Then, immediately following surgery, your implant dentist will attach your temporary replacement teeth. After your jawbone fuses to the implants (a process that takes about six months), you’ll return to our office to receive your custom-fitted, permanent replacement teeth. The All-on-Four dental implants procedure isn’t right for everyone. At your consultation, we’ll discuss whether it’s the right choice for you.
